That's very true; they did a lot better than anyone expected, including themselves!

I'm sure that their success will have lifted the mood in England, for a while at least.

I've just seen this now & obviously it will be far too help to help 2Heads & his friend but I knew of somebody who went sea fishing from Pescara with one of the fishing boats. I'm not sure how he arranged it but if it was me I'd go & ask in the marina; somebody there would either take you out or know how to organise it.

Sorry for being a year late. And not even being too helpful then.  ;D

I'm not a football fan but with England sailing into almost unchartered waters in this World Cup (certainly for the first time since the days on scurvy & public floggings), I quite fancied watching tonight's semi-final. So, I look it up on Sky (which we subscribe to) only to find that they aren't carrying it! Seemingly it's going out free-to-air on Canale 5 but we can't get that.

Damn!

I imagine it's on in one of the bars in the village but I'm not that keen! So, I wish them luck & may they carry on exceeding expectations, for once.

I also felt for Yates - but Sky are such a good team that they saw the weakness and knew exactly how and where to attack.  Froome's ride was awesome.  Is he a drugs cheat?  Will he be allowed to ride in the Tour?  Will he be stripped of any of his wins?  I guess time will tell.  It is a shame because holding all three GT's is a really special achievement, but is it 100% clean?

Have to add that this year's Giro was an absolute S.O.B - what a third week - all those climbs for already really tired legs.

As for the UK press - yes - maybe they don't want to shout from the rooftops - just in case............
