Car Hire @ Stanstead
« on: September 08, 2015, 10:55:40 AM »
I'm booking a car for a trip back to the UK.

I found via AutoEurope a 5 day in Oct, Compact size (Hy 130) thru InterRent for £20 .. for the 5 days!

It does have a limit of 100m/day .. then 18p /ml .. but that's fine for me. Fultan to full tank so no dodgy refill charge ...

Anyone else used AutoEurope+Interrent ... seems too good to be true!?

I can't believe that is right...if it looks too good to be true etc.

I booked a car through interrent. Very cheap but they wanted a £1200 deposit. we negotiated down but apparently its in the very small print!!

All car companies (that I know of) take a deposit which they usually hold on your credit card. When you hand them the car back if all is OK with it they release the funds.

Well ... It all worked out fine ... brand new Nissan Juke .. 5 days hire .. £20 .. plus about £15 addl cost as I drove further than I expected to and exceeded the 100mile/day limit .. but all in all I'm happy.

Btw .. Interrent = EuropeCar

Yes there was the £1200 deposit thing but (even if this was larger than normal) it's standard and there was no issue.

Interrent = Europcar = Keddy also by the looks of it... Some mixed reports out there on them.
