U21 Football
« on: March 31, 2015, 09:53:56 PM »
We really make things hard for ourselves don't we!
Last night England under 21s beat Germany 3-2. It looks as if we could have a good crack at the U21 Euros, but the likelihood isthat Kane, Barkley, Sterling, Shaw and Oxlade-Chamberlain will all be stopped from taking part by their clubs!
I am sure that is good news for those who have played a part in qualifying but unlikely to help England get the uplift from winning a tournament. Success breeds success - as has been shown by Germany, Italy and Spain but we never seem to understand that.
It's an interesting fact (although not as interesting as it might have been because of last night's result!) that the whole German team play in the top flight of the Bundesliga or the equivalent in another country while 8 of the English starting 11 play in the Championship.

Couldn't agree more....the youngsters should be required to play for their country regardless of what the managers want.

Tonight's game was well worth the watch though.
