Airport bus service
« on: August 15, 2014, 06:07:13 AM »
Gaspari runs a bus service to both Rome airports with stops in L'Aquila, Teramo, Giulianova and four points north of there along the Adriatic coast: http://www.gasparionline.it/

There are six services a day in each direction, which perhaps doesn't sound like much, but we've found they generally fit in well with flights and don't require too much waiting around at airports. For us, the slight negative of few buses in a day is more than offset by the positives of being able to avoid the prospect of either driving to the airport or getting public transport into the city centre and then back out to the airport.

We've found the service itself to be very good, but we always get an error page on the website when purchasing tickets online. Although it tells us that the transaction has failed, an email has always arrived very rapidly confirming the purchase and giving a customer code. So if you should get an error message, check email before paying again.  ;)

It is possible to buy a ticket from the driver, but we've found the service is often quite busy so there's potentially the risk that there might not be any seats available if you don't book in advance.
