Carabinerie
« on: October 05, 2017, 11:37:49 AM »
Reading some old posts about Caribineiri fining a couple for not using registered builders made me smile as any times the carabineiri have visited us have been incredibly casual.

We have a permanent pile of sand outside ;) and had friend helping who was mixing our lime plaster but they only wanted to say house nice the house looked and are we opening a bed and breakfast! Plus one wanted to show off his few English phrases to his mate!

The second time I had to report a very suspicious old oil barrell which was leaking caused by a neighbor moving stuff around and puncturing it! They came in the dark and would not get out of the car until I told them the dogs would not eat them.Overall totally unconcerned and pretty useless IMO. If they are frightened of a dog how useful would they be in a really dangerous situation????

Welcome back Dolce nice to see you back spouting tripe again   ;D
If you are going to (wrongly) pull down the Italian police at least spell their name right.
I wasn't going to react to such bad comments but I couldn't resist.

Let's be honest, as in all walks of life, there are good and bad.  We've been treated in a professional and helpful manner by the Carabinieri in our town, but have also been subject to amateur pettiness.

I think anyone who is part of the emergency service deserve some sort of respect. Judging a service on being scared of a dog is laughable. In the UK you would have been ordered to put your dogs inside. No right minded person would step out of a car where there are dogs if they did not know them. However I am sure if they were called out to face a murder taking place they would not be sat in a car waiting for dogs to move.

Just to let people know that not all Carabinieri are in charge of building control, there is a specialist section who take care of this. Once they have done their rounds (usually in plain clothes) they will then return accompanied by the local Carabinieri.

Well done VV you have successfully closed that discussion as you do so many here ::) ::) ::)

Who ( apart from a few here who are not impressed by your bluster) will add their comments unless they are in agreement with yours? You will just attempt to ridicule and abuse them as in every thread where anyone dares to criticise any part of living in Itay.

This used to be a good place to swap advice and share stories.

Not any more  :(

So celebrate with a big glass of Prosecco as I can not be bothered with it any longer.

I hope you donít give up Dolce, I do understand that when opinions are expressed people who hold the opposite opinion often feel compelled to respond. Thatís life and as itís just opinions neither is right nor wrong.

The forum is very quiet at the moment but is still useful for exchanging information and with your knowledge and experience it would be a great shame to lose your input.

Hits the nail on the head, I suspect the likes of this thread is the very reason ::)
