Insuring a UK registered car
« on: September 12, 2017, 02:16:51 PM »
We have our UK registered car over here & it lives here permanently. Most policies restrict you to a max of, say, 180 days / year out of the UK & the only one we've found that covers us for 365 days is through Stuart Collins in the UK.

The policy's coming up for renewal & I was wondering if anybody knew of any alternatives. The Stuart Collins one isn't overly expensive so it isn't a problem, but if there are alternatives it would be good to know.
In Abruzzo since March 2013

Be aware that to circulate in Europe with your UK registered car the car must be 'road legal' in the UK (the country of origin). That means it cannot be SORNed in the UK, and should have a current MOT.

Of course, this is not always respected, but it is the legal situation.
