I have just recently signed with New Electric down around Lanciano. The feed in rate is currently low, around .10 per Kw, so it is not really worth getting excess capacity. We signed for a 4.5 KW system, which will easily power our entire house during daylight, maybe even in the winter months. The cost, iva included for an installed system is just under 9K Eu. The 6kw system was just under 12K EU, so with the low feed in rate they are paying, it would make the cost recovery time longer than I care for. You get a 50% of cost tax credit, spread over 10 years. The panels are under warranty for 25 years and the inverter for 20. I am figuring that within 5 years I will easily recover my cost, so I consider it a pretty safe investment.
