Bayonet lightbulbs

Well it's sort of to do with electric :)...

Does anyone know if you can get bayonet lightbulbs here? Am just back from an unsuccessful shopping expedition.

I'm afraid I have never seen one in Italy!

They are definitely things which have to be brought from the UK - maybe the British Corner Shop stocks them?

No - never seen a bulb with a bayonet fitting in Italy.  I've got a cheap little lamp, in working order, if that would help - you'll need a socket close by!

Amazon UK , you can get LED B22 (bayonet) bulbs. Else get a B22 to SES (E14) or ES (E27) adaptor. If you get the latter avoid the china/korea suppliers as they take months to arrive.

Oooh an adaptor, now that's lateral thinking - thanks The Diggers! :).

Shebar thanks very much for the offer, but I've got at least 6 lamps - and they all take bayonets haha. Of all the things I thought I'd need to adjust to, this wasn't it :).

For the long run, it might be better to find someone to adjust your existing lamps to take screw-in bulbs.

Shebar's suggestion of changing the lamp holders is very sensible. It's not usually a difficult job (even for table lights) - say ten minutes per lamp.

If you then go back to 'Bayonet Land' it is very easy to find the Edison screw bulbs - (although if Brexit happens these forrin invaders might be banished from the shelves...!)
